Question:
Which air filter is best for me?
Answer:
We have broken this answer into four options so you can select the one that fits your needs perfectly.
An inexpensive filter - We recommend the washable Durolast filter. There are many other washable filters but we find them to be flimsy and not cost-effective. The Durolast filter will last about 6-8 years if you look after it and keep it clean.
Efficiency rating – approximately 15%
A medium filter - We recommend the Media Style filter- and the Bryant filter comes out top of our list. They are efficient and cost effective.
Efficiency rating - 70% rated at one micron
A medium high filter - The EAC filter fits this category and will last for years if washed and kept clean. You do not need to replace this filter after installation.
Efficiency rating - 95-99% at one micron
The ultimate filter - The top-of- the- line filter is the HEPA filter. It is used in hospitals to clean the air of allergies and bacteria. These filters need to be replaced approximately once a year.
Efficiency rating - 99.97% at one micron
