Memorial Day

Monday, May 27th, 2013

During the final Monday of May every year, we commemorate those military personnel who have died in service to their country. Formerly known as Decoration Day, probably because of the way that graveyards were decorated with flowers, Memorial Day came to prominence in the wake of the American Civil War, which left the country war-torn, with many casualties on both sides. Since that time, it has been a day of remembering those who have given up the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

As you go about town on your day off from work, you’ll probably see an abundance of flags and flowers, as well as public commemorations such as parades. While this day has been turned into the last leg of a three-day weekend, it’s important to reflect on the way that our military personnel have shaped our country, and to remember their contribution to the way we live today. We at Rentmeister Total Home Service, wish you all the best on Memorial Day.

Air Conditioning Tip: Getting Your Air Conditioner Ready for Summer

Friday, May 24th, 2013

Do you have any doubts about whether your air conditioner will survive another cooling season? Are you fully satisfied with its performance? As summer approaches, homeowners throughout our service area are readying their air conditioners so that they will be prepared when they need them most. With pro installation and routine maintenance, your AC will run well for years to come, but as with any mechanical system, repairs are an inevitable part of operation, and they need to be taken care of quickly so they don’t inhibit other aspects of your system. As one of the leading HVAC companies in your area, we’d like to give you some tips about how to get your air conditioner ready for this summer. Call Rentmeister Total Home Service today for comprehensive Salt Lake City air conditioning services.

Here are some things you can do to get your AC ready to go:

  • Enroll in a preventive maintenance program. There’s no better way to ensure that your AC works well all summer long than by enrolling in a preventive maintenance program. Our Ultimate Savings Agreement offers 2 precision tune-ups per year, priority customer status, a 15% discount on service repairs, in addition to the peace of mind and cooling confidence that comes with our service. Comprehensive inspection, cleaning, and adjustments will allow your system to operate as it should.
  • Keep your AC clean and clear. Keep an eye on your AC units. Make sure you keep the area surrounding the indoor and outdoor units clear of any debris. Any object or material that blocks airflow and thermal dissipation can be a problem. If you take care of your AC, it will take care of you.
  • Routinely check and replace your air filter. While the majority of maintenance tasks should be performed by a Salt Lake City air conditioning professional, replacing your air filter is one of the few that you can do on your own. Every month, go take a look at it. If it is dirty or clogged with debris, then you need to replace it. While it is designed to prevent dust and debris from entering your system, it can actually become counter-productive if it blocks airflow.
